HI THERE

Hi, I’m Max

While I have always worked in engineering disciplines, I also spent years playing in bands, building recording studios, helping people learn music online and scoring electronic music for dance. Over the years, I was always fascinated by spatial effects and using them in my own music. I love how many innovations in music technology took place in my own backyard. There must be something in this Boston water supply that compels us to build reverbs.

As a cautionary tale, I have learned that an ambitious and professional digital reverb is a tough starter project for a new pedal company! I probably could have made a few tube screamers first. Though this company is currently just me, I am going to say “us” most of the time, as so many kind people have helped me get this project off the ground and I’m extremely grateful for all the technical support and creative feedback.

Consulting and DIY

I am always looking for opportunities to collaborate with like-minded builders, either commercial enterprises or DIY efforts. Get in touch if you are interested in a consultation on a reverberator design or a synth or pedal firmware project. I’m pretty familiar with most of the DSP and microcontroller platforms that DIYers and small builders make use of.

I can also be found chatting with people on Discord. You can try to find me (@passtheducky) on the The Audio Programmer server, or maybe on the Collector//Emitter server talking about pedals.
